Dex New York is a fabulous all in one makeup, hair, and photography production studio with red carpet appeal. I had the extreme pleasure of experiencing the glamour of DEX New York during Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. DEX New York was my one and only Fashion’s Night Out stop…It was the first day of NYFW, I had just keyed makeup for a show and was exhausted. I was more than happy to plant myself at DEX New York and experience the splendor of DEX’s modern and palatial 6,000 sq ft beauty oasis.
DEX New York consists of a front-of-the-house beauty atrium, lounge, mineral makeup atelier, and image laboratory.
DEX New York Mineral Makeup is a professional quality line of camera ready makeup, available to both pros and consumers. Celebrities such as Kelly Ripa and Alicia Keys go ga-ga for DEX!
In my opinion, many mineral makeup lines tend to seesaw somewhere between “tame” and “neutral”. But not DEX! The line is edgy and runway inspired yet natural. DEX New York products also combine health benefits to help protect against the sun and city living, while replenishing and nourishing the skin’s surface layer. The makeup line is cruelty free and eco friendly.
Overall DEX New York gets two well manicured (currently MINX manicured:)) thumbs up from ThisThatBeauty. The line is chic, savvy, and filled with vibrant color! All of the products feature an advanced anti-aging peptide complex. The shadows are paraben free and made from non irritating fine mineral pigments. Rich bronzers come in a natural array of flattering matte shades. The loose foundations and mineral powders all contain vitamins C and E.
As a makeup artist, the biggest stand out of the line is the Beauty Portfolio, a clever little customizable palette that resembles that of a small leather bound book. The Beauty Portfolio can accommodate foundation, blush, eye shadows and bronzer…perfect for the beauty maven on the go! Beauty Portfolio comes in three colors: red (ThisThatBeauty’s fav), black and silver.

I have heard of DEX. B. Scott did a video featuring them about 6 months ago(?) It looked really interesting.
