Summer Collection: Yours Truly Brand

Yours Truly Brand (YTB) recently hosted a preview of their Summer 2010 line at The Foundation in New York City. Considering it was already 90 degrees outside, I thought it a bit late to do a preview for summer 2010 but what the heck…game on!

The line is billed as being inspired by a “diverse range of cultures and styles” and promises to “challenge what is conventional”. My take on the aesthetic of the collection is Abercrombie and Fitch meets a modest club girl with stripper tendencies….or perhaps I was thrown off by the model posed near an actual stripper pole at the preview event. My bad!

Several pieces in the collection are made from 100% organic Pima cotton. Pima cotton is considered a superior blend of cotton that is highly absorbent and durable.

This asymmetrical drawstring dress with “real scandalous NYC Craigslist ads” printed into the fabric, add a bit of personality to what at first glance could easily have been a line led by screen printed tees.

Here’s my takeaway — If nothing else, Yours Truly Brand offers a youthful, playful summer line, with many pieces made from organic, and moisture wicking Pima cotton. The high hemlines and exposed midriffs will definitely help to keep 20 something females cool throughout the hot summer months. To see the complete line, go here.
