Prescriptives Comfort Cream

This September, Prescriptives is set to relaunch its Comfort Cream into two separate products for day and night.

The day Comfort Cream has been created using algae and kola nut extracts to soothe skin. The cream is also said to reduce redness thanks to the inclusion of turmeric root and vitamins A and E. Wheatgerm and kukui nut oil are included for their hydrating properties.

The night product is a heavier cream said to work to address the appearance of skin damage and reduce the appearance of lines. The formula is described as being “non-greasy” and claims to aid the skin’s natural nighttime repair process with the inclusion of peptides. According to Prescriptives, the cream helps strengthen the skin’s protective moisture barrier with barley extract and muru.

Don’t we all secretly crave instant results when starting a new skin care regime?

With products like serums, eye creams, and topical acne treatments, you usually have to stay the course for a prescribed period of time before results are evident. But don’t ya just love a product that shows and proves after just one use? Yea, me too! I’ve recently discovered two products with major “one-use WOW factor”. Of course, I MUST share:

Erno Laszlo Beta Mask

This targeted treatment is a multi-faced approach to combating acne. It contains one percent salicylic acid for mild exfoliation, willow bark extract to reduce sebum secretion and kaolin to absorb excess shine. Because blemished skin is sensitive, calendula, arnica and sage are added to tone and moisturize, while peppermint and eucalyptus provide antibacterial benefits.

My battle with adult acne is constant game of block and tackle. I have accepted that this is my skin care cross to bear. Having said that, its uber important that I maintain a solid regime that attacks my stubborn adult acne from many angles. This includes using an acne fighting cleanser, toner, day time topical treatment, night time topical treatment, and arsenal of masks.

Erno Laszlo Beta Mask is the latest to join my acne maintenance arsenal. This is a deeply penetrating detoxifying mask that works overtime to combat the excess oil and sebum that lurks beneath the surface. Over the years my skin has done exceptionally well with clay based masks. The Beta Mask not only manages my oily acne prone skin with the power of clay, it also uses salicylic acid to exfoliate and a host of powerful ingredients that calm, tone, and moisturize my fiercely frustrated acne-plagued skin.

Beta Mask is a bit on the pricey side. Sorry darlings, but I’m rarely concerned with cost when it comes to a product that WORKS! Beta Mask comes in a box of six packets for $48. So technically that means six applications for $48. But real talk – my stingy self can stretch one packet and use it at least four times.
